High School Internship Program
The purpose of this program is to supplement conventional classroom training by introducing students to a broad range of non-clinical, practical experience through the work environment at Pottstown Hospital. This program aims to enhance students' academic, professional, and personal development. The internship experience provides students with the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills while gaining valuable practical experience. Students will earn academic credit while exploring a variety of career avenues within the hospital. During their participation, students will interact with hospital staff, who can become mentors, contacts, and references that can help guide their educational and career paths after completing their internship.
Students may only participate during their senior year of high school. Students will be required to confirm a consistent schedule of the days and hours they will be on campus. Schedules should fall on Mondays through Fridays between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Weekly schedules should not exceed 10 hours and should not be less than six hours.
The number of internship positions offered is at the availability and discretion of Pottstown Hospital. Please review the Information Packet for more information and frequently asked questions.
The current application period is now open and will close on February 7th, 2025 at 11:59 pm.
Shadowing Program
Pottstown Hospital offers a robust shadowing program for High School and College students. This program is for exploratory purposes, and not intended to meet curriculum, internship, or school requirements.
If interested in shadowing, please complete the application and send to Megan Forstburg, Supervisor of Community Engagement at Megan.Forstburg@towerhealth.org to start the process. Shadowing is dependent on the availability of a preceptor. It typically takes approximately six weeks from the initial interest email to be able to shadow onsite.
