About Champions of Care
For 158 years, Reading Hospital has been the heartbeat of Berks County – caring for generations of families through life's most exciting and vulnerable moments. Champions of Care is our annual celebration honoring the local healthcare heroes and the supporters who make their work possible.
To celebrate that incredible legacy and shape the future of healthcare in our community, we’re hosting our Second Annual Reading Hospital Champions of Care Dinner on September 9, 2026, 5 to 8 p.m., at the DoubleTree Hotel in Reading.
Second Annual Reading Hospital Champions of Care Dinner
This year's event will benefit the Emergency Department renovation and expansion at Reading Hospital. Every day, 305 patients walk through the doors of our Emergency Department. That is not a peak-day number. It is every single day, all year long. Our ED is the busiest single-site emergency department in Pennsylvania and the region's only Level I Trauma Center. This initiative will expand and renovate that space to match the standard our community deserves.
