August 4, 2021 - As the COVID-19 Delta variant continues to spread across the country and the region, Tower Health reminds the community on the importance of getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

July 30, 2021 - After several months of careful exploration and due diligence, Tower Health’s Board of Directors has decided that the system can best chart its path forward by developing a strategic alliance with Penn Medicine.

July 27, 2021 - Reading Hospital - Tower Health has been recognized as a Best Hospital for 2021-22 by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital was ranked eighth in Pennsylvania and recognized in Northeastern PA/Lehigh Valley. Reading Hospital was also nationally ranked #50 in pulmonology and lung surgery and high performing in gastroenterology & GI Surgery, geriatrics, orthopedics, and urology.

July 22, 2021 - The Friends of Reading Hospital announced that the Reading Hospital Road Run event on Sunday, October 17 will return as an In-Person Event this year. The 2021 event will consist of a Half Marathon, 5K, 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, and the “Go-the-Distance” challenge.

July 19, 2021 - Reading Hospital - Tower Health has been recognized by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®) and International Lactation Consultant Association® (ILCA®) for excellence in lactation care.

July 12, 2021 - Reading Hospital announced that at midnight on July 12, 2021 (when a daily census is counted), it had ZERO COVID-19 inpatients for the first time in 17 months. To date, Reading Hospital has treated 3,225 COVID-19 inpatients.

June 23, 2021 - The Friends of Reading Hospital (The Friends) announced that they will provide $233,880 in grant funds to aid hospital departments and community organizations.

June 18, 2021 - Reading Hospital – Tower Health received Magnet® Designation for Nursing Excellence from The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) for the second consecutive time.

May 24, 2021 - Diana Pelletier, a Reading Hospital Rehabilitation at Wyomissing (RHRW) patient, plans an annual “Reclaim the Day” activity to celebrate life after a 2007 car accident left her with paralysis. This year, she plans to walk one mile in the EksoNR robotic exoskeleton and raise $5,280 for the EKSO Patient Assistance Fund at the Reading Hospital Foundation.

May 19, 2021 - In recognition of National Nurses Month, Reading Hospital Foundation is highlighting nurses through a social media fundraising campaign titled "Behind the Mask."
