January 26, 2026 - Reading Hospital’s Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) believes it’s never too early to start reading! The team participated in the 2025 Babies with Books Read-A-Thon, a friendly reading competition between multiple NICUs to promote early literacy, family bonding, and brain development. 

January 15, 2025 - Every blood donation can save up to three lives. I donate blood multiple times per year so I can give families the same precious gift my wife and I received. 

November 12, 2025 - In August 2025, the Health Equity team celebrated the first ever National Community Health Worker (CHW) Awareness Week. Throughout the week, the team hosted events to show the important role CHWs play in supporting patients and strengthening our community.

November 11, 2025 - In October 2023, Reading Hospital employee Tina Wehr and her family faced the heartbreaking decision to end lifesaving treatment for her 44-year-old brother, Chris McCann, a United States Marine Corps veteran who was injured in a traffic accident.

August 18, 2025 - Reading Hospital Magnet Nurse Champions led the 16th annual “Stuff the Bus” project to benefit three elementary schools in the Reading School District.

May 12, 2025 - Twice a week on the Reading Hospital campus, joyful chants echoed through the air: “Girls on the Run is so much fun!” The excitement came from the hospital’s very first Girls on the Run Berks team, launched by four dedicated nurses who served as coaches. 

April 25, 2025 - Reading Hospital’s future healthcare professionals got a behind-the-scenes look at hospital operations through “Take Your Child to Work Day.” The team welcomed 120 new team members on Thursday, April 24. 

April 24, 2025 - Phoenixville Hospital and Pottstown Hospital celebrated their commitment to building awareness and support for organ donation by raising a flag for the "2025 Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania (HAP) Donate Life Challenge" earlier this month.

April 3, 2025 – The Friends of Reading Hospital, in collaboration with the Reading Hospital Foundation, brought a splash of color and a showcase of artistic cuisine to Redner's Event Center at FirstEnergy Stadium on March 28 with their new “Farm to Table(aux)” event.
